Dark Logger Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 4, 2026
The Golden Rule of Dark Logger
We built Dark Logger on a foundation of absolute privacy. Your health data is yours alone. **It never leaves your device.** We do not store, see, or touch your logs.
1. Data Collection & Location
Dark Logger is designed to be a "Zero-Knowledge" application. This means Zeph (the developers) cannot access any of the data you enter. All of your tracking data is stored locally on your device's persistent storage.
- Location Data & Weather Triggers: To help identify triggers like barometric pressure changes, Dark Logger requests access to your location. When you log an attack, the app sends your current coordinates to a third-party weather provider (Met.no) to retrieve atmospheric data. Critically, Dark Logger does NOT store your coordinates. Only the resulting weather data (temperature, pressure) is saved to your local on-device log. No historical record of your location is ever maintained or transmitted.
- Health Platform Integration: While Dark Logger is built for medical logging compatibility, current versions do not automatically sync with Apple Health or Google Fit. We plan to offer these as optional, localized integrations in future updates, always under your direct control.
2. No Cloud Accounts
Dark Logger does not require an account or a login. There are no usernames or passwords. Because there are no cloud accounts, there is no centralized database holding your records.
3. Subscriptions & Billing
For premium features, we use standard app store processing (Apple App Store / Google Play). While we receive confirmation of your subscription status to unlock features, we do not receive your name, address, or payment details.
4. No Third-Party Analytics
Dark Logger does not use any third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or crash reporting services (such as Firebase, Sentry, or Mixpanel). Your usage of the app is completely private, and we do not collect any statistics outside of the anonymized, standard deployment data provided by the App Store and Google Play.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because your data is stored on your device, you have full control over it. Deleting the app from your device will simultaneously delete all of your logs. To keep a backup, use your device’s standard system-wide backup (e.g., iCloud or Android Backup), which is encrypted and managed by your OS provider.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally as we add new features. Any updates will be reflected in-app and on this website.
